TSMC's Japan JV JASM Approved to Shift Second Fab to 3nm Production
JASM, TSMC's joint venture in Japan, has received approval from METI to convert its second fab from mature nodes (40/12/6nm) exclusively to 3nm production. While the technology node advances, monthly capacity drops significantly from a planned 63,000 wafers to 6,000, with production expected by late 2028. Additionally, JASM's first fab will drop 12/16nm plans to focus on 22/28nm and 40nm processes.

10 月 18 日消息，据日本经济产业省官网公示，台积电控股的在日合资子公司 JASM 第二晶圆厂转产 3nm 的计划已得到批准。
JASM 第二晶圆厂原本规划的是 40nm、12nm、6nm，总月产能 6.3 万片晶圆（40nm 月产 1.5 万片、12nm 和 6nm 合计月产 4.8 万片）；现在则调整为仅生产 3nm，月产能 6,000 片晶圆。该项目预计 2028 年 12 月完工，同月投产。
JASM 也对其已量产的第一晶圆厂规划进行了调整。其原计划生产 22/28nm 和 12/16nm 芯片，设计产能 5.5 万片晶圆；现在则舍弃了 12/16nm 节点，调整为月产 4.5 万片 22/28nm 晶圆和 5,000 片 40nm 晶圆。
