A new report by CCID reveals that China's AI inference data volume has surpassed training data for the first time, signaling a shift from model R&D to large-scale industrial application. Daily token calls exceeded 175 trillion as of June 2026, growing over 1000x since early 2024. Additionally, domestic compute and LLMs have deployed in over 1,000 scenarios across 20 industries, with more than 500 smart factories established.

IT之家 reported on November 1 that, according to CCTV News today, the Top Ten Trends in Innovation and Development of New Domains and New Quality Productive Forces, released yesterday by the China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID), indicates that the volume of inference data for artificial intelligence in China has surpassed training data for the first time. This marks a transition in China's AI sector from the model training and R&D phase to large-scale industrial application.

The data shows that as of June 2026, the average daily token invocation volume exceeded 175 trillion, representing an increase of more than 1,000 times compared to early 2024. The iteration cycle for top-tier large models has also been compressed from several months to just weeks or even days. Artificial intelligence is moving comprehensively from the laboratory stage of "feeding models" to the industrial implementation stage of "utilizing models."

The report noted that with the deepening implementation of the "AI + Manufacturing" initiative, China has cumulatively built over 500 world-class smart factories, covering all 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government, and spanning more than 80% of major manufacturing industry categories. Domestic computing power and large models have been deployed in over 1,000 application scenarios across 20 industries, including steel and automotive, driving the expansion of new business models such as personalized customization and full-lifecycle services.

As previously reported by IT之家, at the 2026 (7th) China Internet Infrastructure Resources Conference held in September this year, the Policy and International Cooperation Department of the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) released the Report on the Development of Generative AI Applications (2026). The report indicated that as of the first half of 2026, the user base for generative AI in China exceeded 700 million, with a penetration rate surpassing 50%.
