OpenAI Upgrades Chrome Extension to Read Tabs and Execute Tasks
OpenAI has upgraded the ChatGPT Chrome extension to directly read open tabs for context-aware answers. In ChatGPT Work mode, the AI can also send messages, fill forms, and organize tabs, while the sidebar now accesses full chat history. The update is available across all subscription tiers and compatible with other Chromium-based browsers.

10 月 17 日消息，当地时间 16 日，OpenAI 宣布升级 Chrome 浏览器的 ChatGPT 扩展程序，支持读取用户打开的标签页，提供更有针对性的回答。
OpenAI 曾推出自有浏览器，随后又于 8 月 9 日停用。此后，公司持续改进 Chrome 扩展程序，增强 ChatGPT 在浏览器中的竞争力。最新一轮升级，进一步扩展了 ChatGPT 在 Chrome 中的功能。
在 ChatGPT 聊天模式下，用户可以让 AI 助手查看 Chrome 中打开的网页，并根据其中的内容回答问题。例如，在三个标签页中分别打开不同的沙发商品页面后，用户可以直接让 ChatGPT 比较尺寸、价格、送货时间和退货政策。
使用面向复杂任务的 ChatGPT Work 时，用户还可以让 AI 助手代发消息、填写表格或整理标签页。例如，让 ChatGPT 填写新牙医要求的表格，再把日程添加到日历；或者分析多个标签页中几家承包商的服务条款，再给最符合自己需求的服务商拟一封邮件。
据IT之家了解，Chrome 侧边栏中的 ChatGPT 也获得了访问全部聊天记录的能力。用户不必离开正在浏览的网页，就能继续与 ChatGPT 对话或安排任务。
ChatGPT 扩展程序面向所有套餐开放。OpenAI 称，除 Chrome 外，微软 Edge、Brave 和 Opera 等基于 Chromium 的浏览器也能使用该扩展程序。
