Self Labs Launches Agent Vault: Browser Proxy Isolates AI Agents from Real Payment Credentials to Prevent Prompt Injection Attacks
Self Labs launched Agent Vault, a hosted browser proxy enabling agents like Claude Code and Codex to checkout and sign in using placeholder tokens. The proxy injects real card numbers or passwords only at the moment of filling, ensuring agents never hold stealable credentials. This architecture limits potential damage from prompt injection attacks to user-defined spending caps, significantly enhancing security for autonomous agents in financial transactions.

This is how agents should handle your card.
Self Labs launched Agent Vault, a hosted browser proxy that lets agents like Claude Code, Codex and Grok Bot check out and sign in using placeholder tokens, while the proxy types your real card number or password into the site only at the moment of the fill.
Because the agent never holds a credential worth stealing, a prompt-injected agent can at most spend within the caps you set.
