Stanford-Founded Harbor AI Raises $10M Seed to Insure Agentic Failures Across Six Named Perils
Harbor AI, a startup founded by four Stanford graduates, has raised a $10M seed round to provide insurance coverage for failures caused by AI agents. The policy explicitly covers six named perils—hallucinations, action errors, bias, contract failures, data leakage, and IP infringement—and pays out for third-party liability, operational losses, and regulatory defense upon incident occurrence. This move signals that the AI infrastructure sector is evolving from pure technical capability competition to building commercial loops that include risk transfer mechanisms.

The first question in every agent conversation I’ve been part of is who pays when it breaks.
And most discussion of AI risk stops at hallucination. So glad to see someone is building the answer.
@harborai_ , a startup founded by 4 Stanford graduates, has raised a $10M seed round to insure companies against failures by their AI agents.
Harbor’s policy lists 6 named perils: hallucinations, action errors, bias and discrimination, contract and SLA failure, data leakage, and IP infringement and defamation.
When one of those failures hits, the policy pays out across third-party liability, first-party operational loss and regulatory defense, with incident response and pre-claim mitigation included.
↳ 引用 @jsantosaranda (Jesus): AI needs clear liability.
Today, @harborai_ comes out of stealth with a $10M seed round led by @Base10Partners, @AbstractVC and @8vc.
@elechi_v0, Cristian, Luis and I started @harborai_ with one mission: to insure the agentic economy.
Rather than pacing the frontier, we believe the solution lies in pushing this frontier with real skin in the game.
